Pursuant to D.C. Official Code § 1–1001.05a, the Board of Elections (Board) is authorized to provide advisory opinions regarding election law compliance to:
- an elected official or a candidate to be an elected official;
- any person required to or who reasonably anticipates being required to submit filings to the Board under chapter 10, subchapter 1 of the D.C. Code and in connection with any election; or
- any other person under the jurisdiction of the Board
